Taxonomy correction

Allow me to relieve any undue fright amongst my readership due to my brother's baseless identification of a breed of goat. A specimen of the Syrain Awassi sheep is presented below:

Obviously, this is completely unlike the goats seen previously in this blog in photos together with Adam and Samer. Please accept my apologies; I expect my brother to issue a prompt explanation. This whole episode does remind me of something which happened in The Good Soldier Svejk where one of the characters works as an editor for a breeder's journal and intentionally misleads people about the value of the dogs, the photos of which they send in. My brother, like the charter in Svejk, should certainly face a military tribunal for his actions.

Enjoy your kebabs, folks.

Greetings,

I apologize for my misleading classification of the goat pictured with with samer as belonging to the syrian 'Awassi breed.

There is, however, several reasons that may explain this mistake:

1) Cross-breeding amongst goats in Asia-Minor and the Arabian Peninsula has been occuring for some time now, and it is not difficult for one to mistaken a type of breed, for example, the syrian 'Awassi, with another.

2)I am not that well-read in the genealogy of goats, and thus my statement, supported by nothing but a unsubstantiated assumption, and I apologize for that.

3)The period in which that picture was taken is when the 'Awassi breed, according to reports in local newspapers and casual gossip amongst the usual gathering of goat-herders and sheperds in the Friday Market, is in high demand. So, from what I had read, it didn't seem unlikely that the goat pictured with samer belongs to the abovementioned breed.

Again I apologize for my misleading comment. I am sure this explanation will suffice to justify any wrongdoing on my part.

Thank you for your courage, Salama. It truly pleases me to know that my little brother keeps abreast of the gossip amongst the goat-herds of Kuwait.
